This past December, I had the privilege of facilitating a panel at the Dubai Association Conference (DAC), an event that promotes dialogue and offers educational sessions for associations interested in exploring opportunities in the Middle East Region. Our session, Building Your Career Path, covered the ever-evolving world of professional development and how planning one’s career and achieving progressive learning through certification can be a game changer in career advancement and growth.

I have been traveling a lot – ok, maybe too much – this spring. Eight countries by my last count. In each I have had the chance to chat with colleagues from all sides of our industry at the event, city, state and national level.
One of TMG's Core Values is "Creating Stronger Communities and Human Connections to Enhance Global Society." In keeping up with that Core Value TMG recently had a chance to give back by collecting school supplies to be donated to the Moi Avenue Primary School in Kenya. Included in the donations were art supplies and laptop computers that will go a long way for the Nairobi, Kenya located school. In addition TMG is helping to connect Moi Avenue with a local school to serve as "pen pals."

At the recent Community Conference of the Association Management Company Institute held in conjunction with ASAE, we had a great session with James Kane. He offered some great insights for any of us working with customers.
I just returned from my annual trip to Kenya visiting friends and family in Nairobi and Nakuru. It was a fascinating time to be in the country with the Presidential election petition being presented and heard by the Kenyan Supreme Court (complete with references to the 2000 Bush/Gore Florida challenge in the US Supreme Court). The country was glued to the TV or gathered around radios on mopeds to hear the lawyers for both sides presenting their case.
PCMA TV Live caught up with PCMA Education Foundation Chair Gregg Talley to talk about Foundation Day.
As we close out 2012 one question that everyone is wishing they had an answer to is "what is in store for us in 2013?" Are we going to see a bounce back or will the economy continue to drag along? PCMA chatted Gregg Talley, CAE, FASAE President and CEO of Talley Management Group and asked what he thought 2013 will look like for meeting planners. Click here to see what Gregg had to say on PCMA's website.
There was an interesting dialogue at the recent ASAE Fellows Retreat among 75 seasoned execs on the evolution of Association Management. The consensus was that really none of the basics have changed but the environment in which we do our jobs has changed dramatically.
